Our Story

About Maverick Made.

Before this brand existed, I got fired.

I was working at an interior design agency in Singapore when they let me go for being, in their words, too much of a maverick. Shortly after, Covid hit. To make ends meet, I did food deliveries. Long hours, a lot of time alone, and eventually, a motorbike I bought with money I'd earned from it.

Lockdown brought stillness. I had time, I had hands, and I had the itch to build something. I picked up leathercraft almost on a whim. That motorbike needed a tank strap, I couldn't find one worth buying, so I made one instead. It wasn't perfect. But it was built with intention, and it was built to last.

I called the brand Maverick Made. Not to be clever, but because it felt honest. Made by someone who didn't fit the mould, for people who don't need to.

Since then, every piece has been cut, stitched, and burnished by hand in small batches, using full-grain vegetable-tanned leather sourced from small tanneries that care as much about the material as we do. No shortcuts, no synthetic substitutes, no hype. Just honest leatherwork designed to age well, feel right, and be worth passing on.
